  1. Paul instructed us to be good citizens. - Rom 13:1- “Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it's God's order. So live responsibly as a citizen” (MSG).  Voting publicly recognizes authority in our culture.

  2. God’s people have always spoke truth to political power.  God’s Patriarchs, Prophets, and Apostles historically engaged political leaders while standing for righteousness.

    1. Moses confronted Pharaoh (Ex 5:1)

    2. Nathan Confronts David (2 Sam 12:7-9)

    3. Elijah confronts Ahab (1 Kings 18 & 21)

    4. Daniel confronted King Belshazzar (Dan 5:22-23)

    5. John the Baptist confronted Herod Antipas (Matt 14:3-4)

    6. Jesus confronted Pontius Pilate (John 18:36-37)

    7. Paul confronts Governor Felix (Acts 24:24-25)

    8. Peter, John, Stephen, and Paul confronted the Sanhedrin (Jewish ruling council - Acts 4:18-20, Acts 7:51-52, Acts 23:1-3)

    9. Paul confronted King Agrippa (Acts 26:27-29)

    10. Paul confronted Festus  (Acts 25:10-11)

  3. We are accountable to God for the leaders we chose.  God’s people are responsible for upholding righteousness in its’ leadership.  Hosea 8:4 implies that God held Israel responsible for setting up Kings that did not align with God’s Will.

  4. We should support the candidate with the most righteous policies and political platform.  When we vote for leaders and policies that align with Biblical principles and invest in a society built on godly values, we obtain God’s favor and blessings for our nation.“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” — Prov 14:34

  5. We are called to preserve godly values and provide moral clarity.  Voting for a candidate that supports righteous policies, sets a standard for other nations to emulate. ““Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted?  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” (Matt 5:13-14)

  6. Christians must be good stewards of our country.  God has blessed us with freedom and liberties that must be protected.  Christians should feel a moral responsibility to practice their civic duties in voting, holding politicians accountable and speaking out protest with politicians support unrighteous ideas in their policies (LGBQ lifestyle promotion, transgender surgeries for minors, pro-abortion endeavors, limiting free speech for Christians, anti-semitic policies, etc).  “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” — 1 Cor 4:2.

  7. We must stand for justice and the oppressed.  An estimated 1,037,000 innocent lives were aborted in 2023.  These babies needed an advocating voice crying out for their survival.   When political policies promote human trafficking (open borders) or the abuse of children (sexual re-assignment surgery for minors), the church must speak out in their defense. In Matthew 18:6, Jesus clearly shares his feelings about those who hurt children, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”   Children are the heritage of the Lord and should be protected (Matt 19:14).   Christians should always vote for the candidate that most restricts abortion in America.
